Is it right for young students to be sent to Adult Prison, or do they deserve a second chance??Can anyone explain it brifely pls.?
And how does Mark react/respond to this especially if he already had bonded with his most fav. original students like;Kevin,Francisco,Jimmy,Benny Wong and Patrick?

I think juveniles should be kept as far from adult prisons as possible.
Except, I do think they should be given very clear understanding of what adult prisons really are. Visits, explanations of conditions and the prison life and rules, and that sort of thing. They should be given a graphic understanding of what lies down the road society thinks they are in danger of taking. But juveniles should absolutely not be directly exposed to the conditions of adult prisons, particularly their inmates. I think that would destroy more lives than it could possibly correct.
Added later -
Unless the crime committed is truly heinous, indicating a viciousness or brutality or sadism that is sickening to see, I think every chance to begin a new life should be given a juvenile before consigning him to adult prisons, exposed to the dregs of humanity.

Depending on the serious charges a juvenile offender can be charge as an adult. Juveniles are sent to juvenile detention centers not adult prisons until they are 18 or 21 years old. This offender had to been doing some serious criminal activity to be sent to an adult prison. Juveniles are given second changes because the justice system does not want a juvenile to start a life of crime and be criminal for the rest of their lives. There are programs for juveniles to be a productive person in society. When they are 18 their records are sealed as if they do not have a record at all when acquiring work in the real world. |
