Someone Let me borrow a camcorder and I had it for a week.......after I had a really crazy weekend i sold it to a pawnshop....Now can that person press charges on me for stealing even thou he gave it to me?

Of course he can. He let you borrow it - he didn't give it to you. What you did constitutes stealing and you owe him for it. |

Hi,
Yes you can be sued for that, of course, he would have to provide evidence to support that he owned it, & also that it was loaned rather than given.
You could fight the case, but the legal system would also require evidence from you that he had in fact deferred ownership to you,
In short,if he has the bill of purchase & can prove that you sold it, you would probably lose the case, in these situations it's always better to try to settle out of court & it's far less costly.
