Is it true that at the age of 17 in the state of Missouri females are considered adults?

I'm 16, and have an abusive father. My parents are divorced, and I've been told that in Missouri where I live the adulthood age in which a female can move out is 17, not 18. Is this true? I'd prefer please if someone with a good insight into the law answers rather than someone who's just guessing please! I'd love some proof too; that's always welcome. :]

Yes, this is very true. Once you are 17 you are criminally considered an adult in the state of Missouri and you can leave home when you are 17. Your parents can't do anything about it once you leave either. You can't enter into contracts to rent an apartment or sign a loan document without a cosigner though, so make sure you have somewhere to live.
