I live in New York. I was told it is illegal to drive in flip flops. Is that really true?

As far as I know in NSW Australia it is illegal to drive barefoot or in thongs/slipper scuffs because apparently it can cause your foot to slip off the Accelerator, Brake Pedal or Clutch (in a manual car) My Best Friends Little Sister who is on her "L" Plates in NSW & is nearly 18 got fined while on Holidays for driving barefoot everything else was in order ie:
she had her license on her
she was displaying her "L" plates front & back
she wasn't speeding
& she had a fully licensed, sober driver (her Dad) in the front passenger seat. She was only driving to the shops a mile down the road because it's hard for her Father to walk The Police didn't care & they fined her & the only reason she didn't lose any points was because she would've lost her license & the Police Officer took "pity" on her but he still fined her to "teach her a lesson" |
