That would depend. What exactly was said? Was the child already emotionally unstable? Some children will cry over nearly anything, so the words of an adult could not be blamed. If the words could be directly and clearly linked to the child's behavior, then there is verbal abuse. |

It is definitely abuse.. you aren't too detailed in your question so I'm not sure it is verbal abuse. If the person is VERBALLY saying things to a child to make the child feel bad about themselves or others, it is verbal abuse. |

1. They they are no good. That they are bad person.
2.They will never amount to any thing .
3.That they are too fat or two skinny.
4. When you tell the they child that they are dumb or stupid.
5. When you use curse words to refer to a child instead of the child name.
6. You tell the child that they are ugly .
Any thing verbally that you say that will affect the child self esteem. |
