if my invention of method A and process A for application X was not patented by me but is known to the public at large, and now i have the idea of Y and i want to patent the exact same method A and process A for application Y, is it possible (patentable)?
it's related to intellectual property. answer by someone who specializes in this law field is much preferable.

Possibly, but it might be very difficult. One significant hurdle will be showing that your novel application Y of the method/process A is nonobvious in light of the known application X of the method/process A. You may have to rely heavily on secondary considerations to establish nonobviousness. |
