In some rural areas (and in some not-so rural areas), it's tolerated - but it's NOT legal.
"Is it nice..." Well, that depends upon what you find nice. I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea but I've enjoyed my time there. |

No, Utah outlawed polygamy years ago (doesn't mean that it doesn't happen).
In addition, there is a federal polygamy law passed in the 1870's, which is able to punish polygamy if the polygamist has spouses in multiple states. |

No, polygamy is not legal in Utah. It hasn't been legal for over 100 years, the Mormons had to make it illegal in order for Utah to become a state.
I guess it depends where in Utah you are living if its nice or not. From what I know it is a great place for outdoor activities- if you're into hiking, mountains, etc its really fantastic. Basically if you live a healthy lifestyle it seems like a good place to be, especially since there are a lot of Mormons which makes it harder to do stuff like buy liquor& there's no smoking anywhere, etc. For some people that is nice, for some its bad. The weather in summer is hot and dry, not sure about winter. |

It is not legal although it is quite common. Sounds as if you want to be a part of a polygamist family. It might be ok as long as your are ok with sharing your man with other women openly including alternating bedroom time. |

Doesn't keep some people from practicing it however, and periodically they end up in court and in jail because the Utah government REALLY would like for people to stop thinking of their state as the home of a bunch of weirdos....so they like to every once in a while make an example of someone. |
