I wouldn't think it would be legal after all it's the stores property. If they have a sign posted saying take them that would be another story. So I do believe that it is illegal to take them. |

It obviously depends on the store. Many stores reuse them themselves, or the original shipping company that left them there gets them. I used to work for an office supply company, they just threw them out. All in all your best bet would be to ask the store manager or owner. |

Unless they are set out for trash, yes; they may be required to give them back to the delivery firm for reuse. When in doubt, ask, what have you go to lose? |

If you don't have permission you are stealing. If you didn't pay for it you are stealing. If there is a sign on it that says FREE then you are ok. |

Yes, they are the property of the store, most major grocery stores have a pallet exchange program. And they charge back the vendors for their use, or pay us when they keep them.
That is theft, and you can get in mucho trouble if you are caught! |
