got stopped in az(flagstaff) with a roach.got a lawyer.Paid him 1500 and still have to pay 425 and stay out of trouble for 6 months.They gave me a class 1 misdemeanor.Is that normal or did i even need the lawyer.

Honestly you would have got the same thing with or without a lawyer honey. Thats pretty much standard. Be thankful thats all you had though, my Dad's weed guy got busted in Arizona and instead of charging him with possesion they charged him with Tax Evasion under the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 and he ended up doing federal time and owing the goverment over $3000. So count your blessings lol |

Usually people make the mistake of hiring a lawyer too early and giving them money in advance. If you had a free consutation with the lawyer first, then went to court, delt with the DA on your own, had a plea offered and THEN decided if a lawyer would be helpful, you would be 1500.00 richer with the same outcome.
I'm not saying to ever take a plea if you think you can get out of it, but at least make the lawyer work for their money. |

That's about right for a lawyer. You could have just gone to court and pled guilty on your own though.
DUI's are more complex and lawyers (at least the attentive ones) are helpful for these. |

If you get caught doing something and you know you are guilty then plead guilty and take what's coming. You will at least save yourself the thieving lawyers costs. |
