Since the United States is (should) be a secular state, religious arguments shouldn't hold any sway in whether or not something is legalized, unless that would infringe on their freedom to preach and practice their religion. Or any other right, for that matter.
So, anything you have heard or come up with would be appreciated. Thanks!

Because everyone deserves equal rights, as I said. Why shouldn't they be taken seriously?

It's most likely that they would like to marry other men because they love them. You, however, seem to be ignoring the fact that not only men are part of the gay community.

It doesn't matter whether or not it's a choice. Even if it was a choice (which I'm not sure about), why should they be deprived or the right to marry? Because it's icky? That is just idiotic.

I have never heard a non-religious arguement against gay marraige. I'm all for it. Gay people should have the same legal rights as straight ones, including being able to marry the consenting adult they choose. |

the gov.has no reason to meddle in MARRIAGE,it is a religious ceremony dating back 2000+ years.the purpose of MARRIAGE is the the propagation of the human species in a religious environment.gays have no right to infringe on this traditional area since their union does not produce offspring.stop this infringement and push for a legal union that will give you all the rights you are seeking. |

Yes, there is a non-religious argument. Actuaries set health care premiums. A percentage of employees will marry and others will remain single. The gay marriage impact on group premiums health care costs should be materially significant, i.e., more than a 5 percent increase in premiums for those who entered the insured group without this unforeseen cost add-on. We just live in the same nation. There is no appreciation to the case that others are obligated to support an unforeseen expense when employees subscribed to the group health plan. |
