1. Having speed limits on NT highways. Bringing in the 130kmph limit has increased our road toll by 50%.

2. Demerit points. It punishes irresponsible drivers not bad/dangerous drivers. you can cause many serious car accidents each year and never receive a single demerit point deduction but heaven forbid if you go 5kmph over the speed limit.

Goanna Dundee
Bushfire arsonists not being charged with murder or at least manslaughter.

I work full time and have a wonderful husband and 4 of course exceptional children, I arrive home from work 8.30 to 5pm everyday have a couple of beers and conversation with my husband which I love, prepare tea. Something simple but try to present well. Desert a cheese cake that was easy but the kids love it and with a smile they thank me which is like being in heaven.1 I wash up tidy the kitchen knowing they are greatful for my effort, and come out side for a smoke and look up at the stars ( tonight are amazing) when it’s not raining in Bellingen and think of my eldest son with tears. I have 3 sons my youngest in high school the next completing an apprenticeship in bricklaying lol My beautiful and only daughter at UNI in Armidale and my eldest son in jail from a car accident that happened on the way home from a funeral. I work for the people that are on benefits some for good reason others because it's easy, yet I raise a family that is respectful and grateful and most important hardworking and I lose. No wonder people take advance of the system because it only works for people that wont help them self. So now I cry every night before I get up to go to work.2 In Australia 25% reduction of penalty if you plead guilty. The law should fight for those that plead innocent and not reward the guilty. I don't understand where the fight for the innocent has gone. Maybe as always depends on who you know not what you know or how much money you have. There is one person in all that I have contacted asking for help, Michael Heffernan a solicitor in Sydney. He is kind, helpful and has restored some faith for my family in the fact that some people do care and will go out of their way to try and help. Without him right now I really believe I would lost any strength I had and in a much darker place.
