lmao...THE USA HAS IT!
Get arrested for a crime... Regardless of the situation, you WILL be treated like you're guilty until you can prove your innocence in court. And even if you do, half the time you'll still be treated as if you were found guilty, not by the legal system, but by everyone around you, and people make their assumptions as soon as arrest is made. Trust me, been thru it enough lol |

United States of America.
Guilty until proven innocent.
It happens quite often
I am sure you recall the poor guy Richard (jewel?) someone or other at the Atlanta olympics...he found a bomb at the olympics
he was a hero for a few days then turned into a supsect and was one for about 3 years.
(granted he sued and won against the state and local media) but he had already been tried and convicted before he ever stepped foot in a courtroom, he was fired from his job and basically was a followed any and everywhere he went.
In some cases you are arrested and held in jail if you cannot make bail...all before you are convicted
if you not convicted how do you get that time back?
this is nothing new in america
the salem witch trials had women drowned to prove that they were or were not witches
In India a man can KILL his wife (and the law states he should) if the wife is raped (because she didnt have on her tora) |

Some of us now think that UK has become a country where a person is guilty until proven innocent. There is even a group of politicians who want to dump trial by jury. It just gets worse. Their argument is based on the fact that there are far too many cases outstanding for judges and juries to deal with. This is exactly the sort of clap trap spoken of by the Nazis.
It all starts with the thin end of the wedge. I know, lets just have trial without a jury for a while. See how it goes. Well, it's not going to happen, the people do not want trial without jury and they certainly do not believe a person is guilty until proved guilty in a court of law, without a shadow of doubt. And there's the rub. Some US courts are now saying [judges] that where there is doubt a jury must convict. I oppose.

Yes the UK. Under anti terrorism laws people who are considered to have contravened rules on refuse and wheelie bins are deemed to be guilty until they can prove otherwise. lol
otherwise this is the basis of the Napoleonic Code. |

When Shapelle Corby was on trial in Indonesia for allegedly smuggling marijuana into the country in one of her bags, I recall reading the judge of the case being quoted in a newspaper that she must prove that she did not put the drugs into the bag.
Hard thing to prove. |

yeah, its called being from the UK.
I am guilty of being fat until I am emaciated.
I am guilty of being greedy until I prove I have given all my money to charity and am living off air and water
I am guilty of being unworthy until I have proven my worth.
Makes you wonder why more ppl don't jump from cliffs really. |

that's the way that Iraq was before we took out Hussein. That's the Iran is now. That's the way North Korea is now. That's the way it can be in certain areas of this country despite what the law says. |

UK has a nice system where speeding tickets are sent out. It is up to you to prove you are innocent and challenge the ticket. Of course many are guilty but there are also many innocent due to equipment errors and other related issues, incorrect signage etc. You can go to court but the threat is more weight of the law is brought to hang over you. |

britain does...what with all the public hype...if they want a conviction the press makes the man look so incredibly guilty before the facts have even been heard |

Exclusively?
In Britain libel law essentially operates on a 'guilty until proved innocent' basis. |
