I've lived with my dad for my whole life and I'd really like to live with my mom now but he won't let me. My mom does have a record of a couple DUIs but it was awhile ago and shes gone through all the required punishments for it. She also makes a lot less money than my dad does but has a paying job, but no car or license yet due to the DUIs. My dad has a very good paying job, lives in a great area, and no record. I'm fifteen and i could talk in court but alls i keep hearing is that i wont be able to move unless i can prove that where i live now is not good. Is there any chance that the court will allow me to move even though my dads might be the more "stable" place for me?

IF the judge has any sense at all, YOU will remain where you are. It is the judge's job to do what is best for you. If your mom lives close perhaps you could have lunch with her from time to time. |

If you mom is agreeable to your moving in with her, then chances are very good that the judge will take your wishes into consideration. Your dad probably doesn't want you to move out, so that is why he's saying what he is. |
