Yes it's stealing. You gave it to them so it now belongs to them. Taking it without permission is stealing. |

yes....thief! |

stephy
Yes you did steal. When you gave your possession away it was no longer lawfully yours.
The person could take you to court over the situation, or even go as far as calling the cops. Although I doubt the person would call the cops over some cards. |

fearless
Probably so. |:
Sorry to say, but you gave it away and then asked for it back.
But then took it anyways. |

AJ Franklin
Yes. You transferred ownership by your own admission and it became theirs.
Give it back. |

floodtheearth
Yeah, that's still theft. I mean, legally it would be, and ethically it is. Sorry. |

John S
if you made it known that's it a loan, he MUST give it back.
if you gave someone a gift, it's gone. |

mykes_
yeah, it's stealing. |

GEEGEE
Yes, since when you gave them the cards, ownership transfered to them. So if you take them without permission, it is in fact stealing. |

blah
yes it is still stealing. Once you gave it to them, it was no longer yours |

lucyliang95
in a way, yes because you gave it to someone and now it is in their possession |

It's stealing, no matter how you spin it! |

DarkQ
Yes it is. |

"Indian-giver" was the term when I grew up.
A gift you gave is now his/her property. They have no obligation to give it back and taking it would be stealing. |

You answered your own question. You "gave it to them under you own free will". After that point it IS theirs. It is no longer "rightfully yours". And" stealing is "taking something that is not rightfully yours," If you take it without their permission it is stealing. |

katieguth95
technically it was theirs now so you took their property! so yes it is considered stealing |

It's stealing. Imagine if it was the other way around, if someone gave you something then took it back. Would you feel someone was stealin from you?. If you gave it away, it no longer belongs to you. |

Tundra21999
If you gave it and the recipient was clear it was theirs to keep, then it's stealing |

theutd11

I think the key word would be "belongED". Even if it was with the generosity from your heart, i think it is theirs once you actually hand it over to them. Sorry, but i would call that stealing. |

lalo_56
Yes, its considered stealing. At the time you gave it to the other person that good/s are no longer yours.
Indian giver! |

Don't fool yourself. It's stealing. |

where is everybody?
it's immature |

Tim E
That is deffinatly stealing |

saraparker
Yes. It became THEIR property when you gifted them with it. |

Michael
yes but u can have it back if the guy doesnt refuse |

Jonny
Yes, it's stealing.
If you lent them to him and wanted them back, then It would'nt.
But as you GAVE them to him. They're not exactly your's are they?
If its only cards. Why is it such a problem? |

׺ShAlOmº×
Yes, that is stealing. When you gave it to them, it became their "pack of cards" and is no longer yours. Therefore, taking it back from them is stealing the item. |

emjay
yes it is stealing. You gave them to this person and when you did so it was a gift and was no longer yours from that point. If you took it back without permission it is stealing. |

mel
why not just buy new cards?? and if you gave it as a gift technically i believe it belongs to the other person now |

grindengh
It's stealing. Ownership is transferred when you gave them the cards.
If you let them BORROW something and then you decided they had borrowed it long enough and then took it back you would be correct. This doesn't sound like the case here. |

spaceytracey3
Yes that is stealing. You gave it to the other person, which made the deck of cards theirs. So in turn you stole their deck of cards. |

njmurphy

in the uk, it wouldnt be in the eyes of law.
but morally i would say it was stealing. |
