someone , a neighbor most likely has put a hand written note on lined paper stating " your yard looks like **** , i bet your proud" in my sisters mailbox i am house sitting for her and am alone with a infant . it is i beleive against the law to stick things in the mailbox without mailing it ? i went over to both neighbors very nicly to the first one and i knew it wasnt not them but the second house i knew for sure becuase when my sister was home they mowed aronnd a fire hygrant that we share so im guessing it was them . what am i supposed to do in this case it really pissed me off becuase i have no controll over her lawn i am home by myself and i dont like people on or touching property that is not theres she has someone coming out to mow it and really it is not bad nice and green and patchy from last summer they were in iraq cuase there in the airforce so they are fixing it writ now cuase it went bad over the summer and winter . im just so mad cause if i had a problem with someones lawn / yard id prolly not tell them or i would offer to do somthing to fix it i guess . or just tell them and maybe that person wouldve found out that i am taking care of a new born by myself **** !

again i say i cant mow the lawn i have a baby and am alone and thats silly to think they own me cause i am upset over it anyone would be . i didnt say it ruiened my whole day

It IS against the law to put something in someone's mailbox. The only person allowed to put something in a mail box is someone designated from the U.S. Postal Service.
First of all, it is a VERY big deal, and a federal crime to touch someone else's mailbox if you are not part of the U.S. Postal system.
Secondly, there isn't any thing you can do. But get over it, sorry.
If you know the person who put it in the mailbox, then your sister has to turn them in, otherwise nothing can be done.
What I would do to make them even more mad is mow the yard in parts, leaving big gaps, etc. Put a camera up, and see if they put it in the mailbox again, then you can file charges. |

its not illegal to place something in someones mail box but you could call the police and report the note they in turn will go speak with the neighbors... this borders harassment and where they used profanity it may even get them a citation |
