don't do it not just because it IS illegal but more than likely you will get a virus that will crash your whole system instead of a game. Tried it, won't ever do it again.

Yeah, it's illegal. Copying something that's copyright without the owners consent is definitely illegal.

Yes, It's illegal. You're getting a copy of software without paying for it.

Whether you are likely to get caught, I can't guess. I know colleges are vigilant about it, as are some internet providers.

It is illegal, but you aren't likely to get caught.

However, depending on your internet company...you may get your account suspended or terminated. My husband downloaded the movie Smoking Aces from one of those file sharing networks. When our internet service was cut off, we had to speak with our company (COX) who said they basically give a three strike rule for downloading illegal material. We get caught two more times and we will never have cable/net/phone service with that company again.

uhh they really dont try to catch people anymore but some girl got aressted a few years back however it is illegal

You might decrease the risk of getting caught by using Tor or the like, but I'm not 100% sure about this.

It's illegal, but really, do you know how many people use Limewire? If they were really watching it all that closely, half the population would be in jail lol.

i don't think it would be illegal b/c my uncle who is a lawyer (yes, i ask a lawyer for you) he said no it isn't b/c he said to run a website like this they have copyright laws, nascar would disapprove if they didn't have the copyright to them. I don't really know the statistics but all torrenting is now illegal,like I just torrented spore,all I know is if theres a thing where it says make an online account,don't because they'll ask for a code from the game files,and if you give them the one from torrent,they'll know you did it.

If it is copyrighted material it is illegal. But you are down loading from a source from out side the US where it is not iilegal. But once you posess it a law has been broken. And the chances of you geting caught are slim to none. Unless your computer was ever siezed in an unrealated situation, and in the case that would be the least of your worries. So go ahead and do it.....

It is illegal; it is theft of their intellectual property because you are not paying the legitimate sales channel for it, and the manufacturer has not released it into the public domain.

As for your chances of getting caught, that depends on where you download it. Most academic institutions closely monitor connections to such sites and what kind of traffic the interaction consists of (download, chat, etc).

To me, the bigger question is not whether you will get caught. If you know it is wrong, as you already suspect it is, then it is wrong and unethical.

Ethics is doing the right thing; even when no one is watching...

yes it is illegal but just dont download too much because you will easily get caught. Your IP address can be easily found if you keep on streaming and download illegally. Chances of getting caught is very slim though.

it is illegal, and apart from the risk of getting caught which is difficult to predict, there are risks that it will come with several other problems, eg; viruses, adware etc

ya it proably would be illegal. you cant put it on the ps2 or xbox without a mad chip and the gamecube uses something like "backwards disks". i would reccomend going to a game store and buying it used for like $6

Course it is illegal, however the chances of you getting caught are incredibly slim! Trust me there like 1/10000000000000000000! Seriously everyone downloads hundreds of games a day! Doing it once will not make a difference, they are after the hardcore downloaders! Trust me, no one downloading has been caught yet!

But those who have shared it have but only a couple out of the whole world. Its nothing! Just do it!

yeah limewire is illegal. my sister used to use it and lots of bad stuff went down. like it also downloaded a bunch of viruses that crashed out computer (we had antivirus stuff and a firewall), it made our itunes all funny so if you tried to play thi one downloaded song, it would restart the computer or ipod and you woulnt know which song it was that day. and you get fined like 5,000 per song or movie you download. so yeah, its a bad deal.
