First I think your little tale of the tail is a fraud to begin with, but who am I to judge, Y!A is full of drama queen tweens.
Second, jakilaja gave you the real answer, but what he may not be aware of is that it is also TOS violation on Answers. You see, its against the rules on YA to lay claim to criminal activity. Yahoo! may also choose to pursue this further. |

Return the dog. It's a living creature and belongs with the others it knows.
You know the dog isn't yours. You know who owns the dog.
What you are doing is a felony, and it is immoral. Furthermore deliberately causing another misery is the behavior of a sociopath. |

Are you asking if possession is 9/10 the law? Because that's different than if it's wrong.
Is it wrong?
You already know the answer to that one and are just looking for an excuse not to.
Sorry but temptation is hard, otherwise it wouldn't be temptation. |

It is beyond wrong....My dogs are members of my family, I would be lost without them....
Even if you thought she was mistreating the dogs or abusing them, then your moral obligation should be to turn them over to a licensed rescue group that will find them a good home. Put in an application with them and maybe you'll get a dog of your own.
There are just too many homeless pets looking for good, loving homes. Give a home to a dog that has no home....and give back the one that did...

Give that lady back her dog!
Now matter how much money she has she obviously loves the dog if she had put out fliers!!
How would you feel if you got a new pup and raised it and it ran away and someone kept it on you!!!!???
Do the right thing!! |

You should be ashamed of yourself. Give her the dog back. So what if she makes a lot of money, that isn't the issue. Go make your own money and buy your own dog.
I hope you get caught you little thief. |

Possession is 9/10 of the law in cases where ownership is in question. This is not your case. There is no doubt that the owner of the dog is your neighbor.
You have a big problem, because you yourself have no doubt as to the ownership of the dog, and the fact that you are in possession of stolen property. Remember, this dog may have had a microchip inserted, and, if the owner suspects you, she might be able to trace it to your home. Your safest bet would be to return it ASAP. |

You are not nice.
Do you even feel bad that shes so worried her little puppy is starving, cold or dead?
Possession being 9/10s of the law is when she leaves the puppy at your house for a month and stopped paying you for taking care of it. |

Not in this case. You need to return her dog. People get very attached to their pets. I have a little Miniature Pinscher and if I ever lost him, it would break my heart. He's my best friend, my companion and he's very attached to me, as well. Everyone who knows me knows how I feel about this dog. If I found out someone was deliberately keeping him from me....I'd do some serious physical damage to that person. I'd also prosecute to the fullest if I found out about it.
The point is...it doesn't matter how much money you have....a beloved pet cannot be replaced. Let the lady have her dog back and take yourself down to the local shelter and get yourself a small dog. It's much cheaper and those dogs need someone to rescue them. |

YES, it is wrong and you are the one not being mature. Think about it. It is HER dog, money or not! SHE misses it and think about this- that poor little dog misses her too. Have YOU ever LOVED a pet and lost it? Did YOu feel you could just coldly go out and BUY another one or replace it, emotionally in any way? I sure hope not or you are heartless. On top of that, if you can't afford a dog, then you can't afford to keep it. Dogs require expensive vet care and the fact she has money is even more reason to return it to her, as she can afford whatever it needs medically. PLEASE, get the number or address on the flyer and return the dog to her TODAY. It's the right think to do and if you have a heart, you will do what is best for the dog. If you are a cold hearted person, which I hope you are not, then realize she will likely give you a reward. If she does, please don't get a dog until you realize that they are not only expensive when you have to buy one, but require medical care that can run into the thousands. My dog is getting ready to go to a university teaching vet hospital and the estimate is $2,500- $3,000 and it usually goes even higher. That lady can afford to do that according to you. I can't afford it, but I love my dog and I will do without to pay for his medical care. This isn't about the law, although she could sue you and win if you do not give it back and sooner or later someone will see you have it. It's about doing the mature and right thing. One day you will look back and be amazed you even had to ask if keeping this ladies dog was right or wrong. I hope. Again, please, take this dog back to the person he knows and loves. Do it for the dog. They have feelings very similar to our own. |

Now Tina, you know that the Dogie belongs to the woman that you hear calling for it, and has posted the fliers The point you are making that this woman has a lot of money incriminates you even more, and " now I have hers" in your own words you are saying that the Dogie belongs o this woman and not to you. You are not to take from the Rich, or from the not so rich either what does not belong to you. Return this dogie, and apologize, and hope she will not turn you in for Dognaping |

she could have you arrested for theft or sue you in civil court and make you pay for her new dog..good luck with either of those |

No you would be put in jail for theft. She is actively searching for it. 9/10 of the law is a wives tale. Legally to be yours you have to notify this person by certified mail that they must claim wintin 90 days.

I don't know what the law is, but think how you'd feel if someone kept your dog just because it was 'lost'. Give it back to that lady even if she's rich, maybe it's the only thing she loves in her life...who knows? |

Possession is 9/10 of the law, meaning you have illegal possession of her dog.
Return it now. Even though you did not steal the dog keeping it is against the law, since you know the legal owner. |

Yes it is wrong. That is her dog, not yours, give the woman her dog back & buy your own. |

You are clearly an ethical idiot!
And, you are a danger to everyone else.
You have committed a crime, I hope this owner will take you to court.
Surely, I do not want to know you at all.
You have an ugly mind! |

Yes, possession is 9/10 of the law, unfortunately, SHE had possession, you took it from her, YOU are a thief. |

absolutely not! Think of how good you would feel by giving the lady back her dog, and knowing you did the right thing. On top of that, use this as motivation to work and save to BUY your own dog. Then you would have RIGHT to the dog.
