This website explains different kinds of felony charges, depending on what the vandalism was against. The website is for pennsylvania laws. |

i believe the answer is yes, but you know sometimes its more than just a slap...if you are under 18 you might not have too high a penalty, but i know a young chap who was in his teens, he was coming through a window vandalizing and the owner was ready for him...the owner shot him in the BUTT.. The majority of the time...vandalism is considered a misdemeanor....a felony comes into affect if the person has committed over 1,000 dollars in property damage and that person can receive over 1 year and 1 day in prison! |

Depends what's getting vandalized I guess |

That sounds like just a regular misdemeanor.
It really all depends on what you vandalize... |

Vandalism is a crime, because it is defacing some sort of property. It depends on the seriousness of the crime on how you will be punished for it. |

It depends on the cost of the damage. In Texas, anything under $50 you will receive a citation. |

it varies from state to state.usually it depends on the $ amount in damages,or if it's hate related. |

It depends on what was vandalized and/or how much was damaged in dollar amount. For instance, smashing someones mailbox is considered a felony even though it's dollar value is not that high. Mailbox's, even though individually owned usually, are still considered property of the U.S. Postal service which is a government controlled office. It all depends on what you do. |

In California if the crime has a large amount of damange it can be a felony. Not sure what the dollar amount is. |

yup it is.to make graffitti art you need a permit and a clean wall in your city in Australia there is permitted vandalism where you get a permit and put your graff art on a wall for everyone to see |

I think it depends on the cost of repairing the damages. A smaller amount would be a misdemeanor; a larger amount would be a felony. |

Pretty much all states base it on cost. If you cause more then $500 worth of damage (that's repairs, paint, labor, all of it together) it will be a felony and you could get a year in PRISON, not just jail. If I were you, I'd stick with chalk and smiley faces.... |
