I need my gps and laptop...if not I want money.

Prove it.

Can you prove it? Take them to small claims court in your county. Bring in witnesses and any proof you have that they stole or lost your stuff (maybe they admitted it in an email or letter so print it out and bring it to court).

Take him to small claims. First submit a notarized letter to him stating the cost and giving him a deadline. You might try and get him to make payments on the amount owed.copies of all correspondence to and from him .
