Jury duty, I found out that I am not needed,do I still get paid day off from work?
Find answers to your legal question.

Jury duty, I found out that I am not needed,do I still get paid day off from work?

I called the automated number in the back of the notice today before heading there and found out I don't need to appear for jury duty. Do I have to notify my employer about this or shall I take the day off as was scheduled and keep quiet?
I have the notice to appear for jury duty but do I need to provide my employer any other proof?

If you are not needed, you have to go back to work. Usually you can call THE NIGHT BEFORE and find out if you are needed.

Notice may not be enough for the employer. The court may give you separate paper for actually serving. It's fraud to accept payment for jury duty when you actually did not serve.

Your employer will probably request the notification of attendance which is usually sent with your check ( if you are required to show up). So since you aren't required to show up, you won't get your check, and won't get your notification of attendance. So to be safe, just go to work.

If you don't have jury duty, you have to go to work.

Why wouldn't you? You aren't, in fact, being required to report.

That is entirely up to your employer. I don't get paid for taking the day off for any reason. Hopefully you have a better job than me! LOL..

Lets see if you employed someone how would you expect to be treated?

If your employer is going to still pay you, I'd say keep it Hush Hush and take the day off!
