Legal Trouble (Drug Related)?

I recently gave a friend 400 dollars to buy Oxycontin for me. He then proceeded to keep the 400 for himself essentially robbing me, and bought pills for himself. Last night he got arrested with the pills on him and he got his aunt to text me saying I'm in trouble and she's threatening to come to my house. Im just wondering if i could possibly get in trouble with the law because of this? Once he took the money and ran it's considered his and whatever he bought with it and was rolling around with is HIS! Do i have a case?

I don't understand why everyone is so adamant that you are free and clear. You were part of a criminal conspiracy to buy drugs, and your buyer got caught. If he tells the police the whole story, you WILL be charged as part of the conspiracy to commit a crime.

This isn't up to his aunt, by the way. In fact, she has no standing whatsoever. But he does, and if the DA offers him a deal to testify against you, you're toast. Saying "well, I gave it to to him to buy drugs, but he bought them for himself" is NOT going to work.

Get a lawyer.

I'd maintain a low profile for a few weeks if I were you. That guy's aunt is mad as hell, and out to fix you up real good. You may have some explaining to do when they ask how you came by such severe injuries.

Therefore say nothing to no one, esp. his family since they are looking to nail you, if the authorities come a calling, immediately lawyer up and say nothing

The police have the legal burden to show the monies you gave him where for drugs, so do not give them the info they need to prosecute you, keep your mouth shut to every one and start looking for a good criminal defense lawyer just in case

Nothing will happen to you, After all the other guy got caught with the dope and they are trying to drag you into it to save his butt. If you are questioned by the cops you know nothing about that transaction. You will just be out of the cash keep your mouth shut and learn a lesson from this.

you are not responsible unless the pill bottle has your name on it. he seems like he want to blame you so you will take his punishment. he probably lied to the aunt

The charge, if any, will be conspiracy. You and he conspired to commit a crime. The aunt has nothing to do with it. The cops may put him out to snitch, so you should consider that anything you say to anyone, including this question, may ultimately be known to cops.
