because he said he wants a dna test. he knows he's his child because he looks just like him, i think he just needs the proof so he can get some custody. anywho, my question is that if and when he does get some custody of our son, do i HAVE to send supplies (diapers, bottles, formula, clothes, blankets, toys, etc) with my son every time he goes to see his dad or can i tell his father that he has to have all that the child needs there. i think it is only fair, i mean he wants the responsibility of taking the baby to watch him, he should have to have the responsibility to provide the child with what he needs. he is NOT a good father figure but i don't think that the courts are going to let me have full custody so that is why i am asking. i don't feel like i should have to send what i have worked hard to pay for over there with him so his father can just get off the hook of having to buy supplies. he is not on child support, i have recieved some money but not much at all. it has been 4 weeks since his father has come to see him. so is it ok that i ask him to have all the supplies the baby needs at his place? i mean think about all i'd have to pack to go over there! please help. thanks

um i'm not a troll i'm being serious. i don't want to have to be paying for stuff that my child is going to be using at his fathers. i just was wondering if it is legal to make him have all of the supplies instead of making me pay for everything. geez

You're not required to supply anything, but if you want to make sure your baby if taken care of you might want to have a bag packed just in case...you said yourself he is not a good father.
When the custody arrangement is set, just make sure there is something written in there that states, 'father will supply child with all necessities while child is in his care' |

You don't HAVE to send anything with your child,but a responsible parent would make sure that their child has what they need when visiting the other parent. Granted,if the child is with him,he should supply all that but what is the big deal about sending a supply along so that your child is properly taken care of. If the child was in your care for that period of time they would be using those things anyway.
If you are going to be this nit picking about such unimportant things,you are in for a long 18 years. |
