She ran off with alot of things and used me as a reference , they call me all the time and there telling me that they heard she stays with me and she dont! they damn near beat my door down , put my tire on flat cause i didnt answer my door . and tellin me that im going to jail because i wont tell them where she is .. i think if i did know i wouldnt tell them anything! they pulled up my address and looked through my mail .. how do i make this stop it has to be a way .....??????

You could try to get a no contact order through your local magistrate. |

Hopefully you did not co-sign or sign anything.They cannot go after you if you didn't. Alot of times, if someone thinks you don't know things they will harass you & say you going to jail. Try to get video of them doing this stuff..record the phone calls. Once you have something proof wise (like them going thru your mail-- that is illegal no matter where you live!) let the police see it. Give them (friend or not) her parent's phone#, work info etc so they focus on her not you. |

are you sure your just a reference? did u sign any paper work along with your bf. They can refer back to you if your friend defaults, you obviously gave them an acceptable recommendation for your friend, however they cant harrass you if you JUST A REFERENCE. call the police, try to file a restraining order if your scared for your safety, and tell your friend to pay the people or give them their furniture back! |

I would try and call the companies home office. You need to make a complaint, You will need the names of the people that are bothering you, and be able to discribe every that was said, and all that they don't.Make sure you explain to them that they are also going through your mail.
Also go file a warrant, they want to throw up the law you do it too.
