I would like to know if I can take any action? My 9 year old son on friday was kneeling in the isle { because there was no room on the bus} from school to his bus stop which is about 5 or so miles.

Most states have laws requiring a seat for each child on a school bus.
You can file a complaint with the bus company and the school district (because it employs the bus company).
I suggest you tell them both that if it happens again you will file a police report.
It is dangerous and you should not tolerate it. |

You can complain to anyone who will listen. lawsuits, however, are designed to recover your damages. As you mentioned no damages, you have no claim. |

if the bus he rides is owned by the school, you should call the transportation department and talk to them. if the bus is owned by the city, no you cannot. it's not the city's responsibility to transport children to school. |

By all means, take action!
My suggestion is that you walk your son to school every day for a week .. then go to the bus company/school district and thank them for allowing your son to ride. |

I don't know if taking action against the bus company is the best thing to do, but I'm sure you can take part in it. I would suggest talking to the school first; the Bus Company is usually controlled by the school...they are not responsible for the kids, they are merely just doing their job. Try contacting the main office or principal, and if that doesn't work you may want to take it up with the Board Of Education.
So, to sum it up, the bus company really has nothing to do with it and can't do much about it. |
