How lucky is your Dad that the inspector got the wrong rego.
Don't pay it.
The funny thing is... when they send the reminder the pay the fine someone else with that rego is going to get the fine. |

your dad can say that someone else must have taken it off their car and put it on your dads if the reg is wrong, its your word against theirs |

Then they can't prove it was his car can they? So, no. Looks like he'll get off. |

You could try claiming it wasn't his car but if it went to court there would be no guarantee that the excuse would hold water.
Remember that the fine will always be very much higher in court than a fixed penalty. |

If the reg is wrong, he could just ignore it. If he writes to them saying it's the wrong reg, that'd prove that he got the ticket.
They'll send a summons to the owner of the car on the ticket, not your dad. |

No. |

He could pay it , but since the registration number is wrong on the ticket then chuck it away and ignore it! |

If they got his reg wrong the surely won't be able to find out his address to chase it up. It's a risky game though. |

if the parking attendant got the reg wrong it will be automatically cancelled back at the office when they check the parking attendants photos so throw the ticket away because if it isnt issued correctly at the time it cant be reissued and your dad has nothing to worry about |

If they got the reg wrong, they cant send the summons to him. Dont contact them or you'll be admitting it. If you dont hear anything, forget about. |

if they got his reg wrong they will not be able to trace the car or him !!!! (moraly yes he should pay it !! ) but______ |

Appeal it saying that he does not own the car that is on the ticket, although I believe they have a clause in the terms and conditions that allows for spelling mistakes and typo's.
Definitely worth a try though, good luck! |

Yes, he has to pay it.
Disturbing how many people are urging you to tell lies to the police to escape the penalty fine. Do they understand the concept of 'conspiracy to pervert the course of justice'? |

I got a parking ticket after my car engine blew up and I left it on a verge, they got my reg wrong but I still had to pay the fine. |

If they got the registration wrong, they will have a great deal of difficulty (a) proving it was your Pa's car (b) chasing him up on it. If the ticket is computer printed, the wrong reg no has gone into their system, so they won't be able to chase it up. Congratulations! |

He could probably get it overturned if the reg is wrong. |

no they got the wrong car so someone else will until he proves he was 100 miles away at the time |
