My page is private only people on my friends list can view it. It said nothing about their name or anyone that was employed there, just basically said that I was not happy where i was. I quit afterwards but am still very bothered by this especially since she can give negative comments about me to future employers. Do I have grounds to sue her?
Additional Details
I was asking on the basis of invading my privacy and then taking disciplinary action against me, they did not have my myspace name or anything it was hear say from another ex employee, they have no proof of anything.

You made a public statement about your employment. They reacted. You didn't like it and quit. They will tell people about the situation.
I can't see anything here that would be successful.
2 more things. They aren't the police. They don't need proof. Employment is pretty much at will. If someone pointed out you posted it (AND YOU DID) case closed.
Second? C'mon. Are you serious? Posted on the internet with an expectation of privacy? You GOTTA know it yo put it on the web, it has a 99% chance of coming back to bite you on the ***. If not, consider this a lesson learned cheaper than ending up on the back of a milk carton.

Sue her for what? She took disciplinary action? But you quit...She wrote you up and then you quit?
You cannot sue her since she hasnt yet let any comment, negative or otherwise. So no, you do not have grounds to sue. |

Acutally, by law companies cannot give positive or negative feedback on you - they can only confirm the dates that you were employed, and your position. If she makes negative comments to future employers and you have proof, you can sue. However, right now you have no case. |
