maybe it has nothing to do with the baby....
either way, it doesnt sound like youve got the whole story from your friend.... the situation doesnt sound right... she "dropped" the baby 3 feet and then caught it.... right... |

wow! thats why i dont trust teenagers with my children |

for one I have four children and I would not ever leave my children or child with a immature 14 year old kid. If they where any kind of mother and father then they would have had a grown adult or daycare center watching the baby. All I can say is tell the god's honest truth to the police. I see that it is the parent's fault for hiring a kid to watch a baby. the police will take your friends statement and possiable record the conversation to for evidence but do not speak any words without your lawyer present, without the lawyer present, the police can actually try to twist your words and end up making you say something that ain't true and end up putting you in jail. if the parents try to sue then they are going to have to have heard evidence against the 14 child that the dropping really happened and if there was no harm with the baby then there's no case. |

Sounds like you might actually be "your friend". If it was an accident, then it was an accident.
My best advice, "Don't lie to the police". |

Call the police back and insist on knowing what they are after. If they refuse to tell you, you probably are under no obligation to go. You have a right to know why you're being asked to come to the police station.
If you still get no satisfactory answer from the police, then an attorney should be consulted. Protect your rights! |

I think honesty is the best policy. Has the parents asked her back or did they call her?
She's a minor so why weren't her parents called first?
The police CAN'T ASK HER QUESTIONS WITH OUT HER PARENTS! They need to be contacted before her if she did something wrong! |

tell her to tell them the complete and total truth. it was simply an accident [wasnt it?] when ur in trouble with the law you just have to tell the truth everytime. |

first of all thank god or whoever you believe in that the child was not hurt. As for your friend, I have had my own scrapes with the law and the absolute best advice is " Don't talk to ANYONE without a lawyer present!" It's common knowledge that a police interview is conducted in a "friendly" setting, but they will use anything your friend says to gain information to use against her. It is NOT against the law for an investigating officer to flat out lie during an interview to gain information. They can tell you they have evidence or witnesses that do not exist in order to gain a confession or scare you into saying something that can hurt your case. Again, DO NOT talk to anyone without a lawyer present. |

SHE DROPPED THE BABY!?? yeh she shouldnt be babysitting at 14.
hope the babys okay!! unless she caused permanant or even semi permenent injuries or kill it (which she obviously didnt) it wont be that bad. maybe a slap on the wrist. but she wont be alowd around infants any longer. and thats probably a good thing!!! |

just go and tell the whole truth of what happened. if the baby is really hurt then they will question you on exactly what happened. be honest with them. if you didn't do anything wrong then you should be fine. good luck. |

Who was she babysitting for?
Did she tell the parents of the baby what happened?
If she didn't tell the parents anything, then apparently something has to be wrong with the child, because they may have noticed something is wrong. How old is this baby and where did it fall from?
Was she throwing the baby in the air 3 feet and then caught it? What do you mean the baby fell 3 feet and she caught it?
Something doesn't sound right...how come the parents of the child didn't ask her anything?
She should just tell her parents the truth!
She is suppose to take care of the child and make sure nothing happens to it when she's babysitting... it shows she's not responsible enough to babysit if she can't inform the parents what happened to the child in her care.
We probably misunderstood the story... because we don't know the whole truth! |

I guess that would depend on the health and or injury to the baby. She should be scared sounds serious, just do the right thing (honesty) and im sure everything will work out........I totally agree with testing about telling the truth. Its really important that the truth be told. I would seriously suggest getting a lawyer before making any statements to anyone........... |

these things happen and it was an accdient. plus 14 is very young to be babysitting and at least the baby was okay and it wont happen again its all good. Im sure the police is not going to press any charges unless the parents of the baby make up some story of the baby being injury or the person doing it on purpose. |

What's wrong with the baby's neck and did she try to hide it?
Too many questions and you didn't provide enough information. Your friend is 14 and should tell her parents. Let her parents take care of it. There's nothing you can say to her. |

she is in trouble. how did the parent know? were there hidden cameras? if it was a accident she could convince it wasnt to harm but its still pretty bad. dropping or catching a baby...whatever can cause some serious damage, the skull isnt complete bone but also cartialige so there may be some developmental problems, which will cost alot. and being 14 she could go to juvie for a few months or a year, and there is a chance she will be sued. |
