The soda machine at the college he goes to, has trouble dispensing soda. He was caught on tape, shaking down the soda machine and is now being charged with petty theft. What should we do?

Ask for the tape. They must give it to you. If the tape shows him shaking down the machine, it should also show him putting money in.....unless he didn't put the money in. |

Hire a good attorney; win the case, sue the college and your son will get free tuition and a guaranteed passing grade.
Other wise he will be charged with a petty misdemeanor and kicked out of school and you will be out a bunch of money for nothing. |

You need to get a lawyer or a court appointed lawyer. Anyone student or teacher that was in the area at the time should give a written statement in reference to what your son was doing and why.
Do not allow your son to talk to the police or campus security until his lawyer arrives. |

I would get one.
Your son is working on a college degree, and one day he will be looking for a career. A lot of employers do background checks. Your son could be turned down because of this stupid incident. I would fight to get these charges dropped. |
