My supervisor at works wanted me to work today?

Today is supposed to be my day off, but at work yesterday she asked me to come in for today. I was kind of unsure but I said I'd try. The reason being, is because we live out of the city, I don't have my own vehicle yet, and I get a ride from someone I work with. The buses here only run in the early morning, and start again around 3. Also when I started my shifts were good I started at 6 in the morning. And now I'm working evenings ..I'm not restricted so I don't know if that changes anything but my supervisor knows I live out of the city so I can't catch the bus to be there at 2 ! What does she expect me too do find rides everyday. I just don't know if I should say anything; or if I should, who should I talk too.

uh...employers have this odd habit of needing employees at incinvienient times. Sometimes they ask, and if you honestly make an effort and can't make it, they move on. Sometimes they hold a grudge and you might be the first person let go in favor of someone who can get there when they need them.

Talk to? Maybe an employer with fewer schedule problems.

When you were asked to work on your day off, you simply should have said no, you couldnt. Instead, you gave the impression that you might. You need to call your super ASAP and let them know you are unable to make it.

If you have a signed request for the day off then there should be no problem. Your supervisor can ask but its at your discretion if its your day off.
If you fear retaliation speak to your supervisors boss.

I would talk to her and remind her of your difficulties about getting to work dont complain however or she may fire you.
