My ticket money was due yesterday?

I got a speeding ticket but the money for it was due yesterday and i'm sending it out today...will anything happen to me because its late?

I got it while i was driving from CA to Texas so its no where near where i live

I agree with all the answers here--having experience with unpaid traffic tickets myself--they can be a HUGE pain in the butt once you let them go unpaid. You're only chance at stopping a warrant from being issued is to go up there in person, let them know you have the money to pay, and hopefully you've caught it before they've done it so you won't have to pay the additional warrant fees--which are hefty.

If you mail it in, a warrant will have already been issued, and you will be responsible for paying the warrant fees on top of getting your license suspended and having to pay a reinstatement fee. Anytime you have a warrant issued they suspend your licence. Go up there and take care of this before it bites you in the butt! Hurry!

You should go down to the courthouse and pay it in person.

You should not mail it. You should go directly to the court and pay them. If you wait they may issue a warrant for your arrest. If you go up there and pay the ticket you might catch them before they do that. It takes longer to get that warrant removed then it takes to just get it straightened out now.

Your best bet is to contact the courts and ask them these questions. They are the ones who will process your ticket and will know all the laws and regulation. Also ask for an extension & ask the courts if you are allowed to take a driving school class. This will prevent your insurance from going up and points from being placed on your license. Just make sure you get the courts permission before doing so. If you don’t the courts will reject your driving school certificate. Good luck!
