just a few days ago my husband got into a verbal disagreement with his supervisor.He then proceeded to fire him. my husband went back to his job to talk to another manager and they say he might be terminated for insubordination. Can they do this without any written notice? And can he still collect? Please any info would be great..thanks

Other than Montana, employment in the US is at will. Unless he has a union or a contract, he can be fired because his boss didn't like the part in his hair; and insubordination will possible kill his unemployment qualifications as well |

Yes since he got into a verbal disagreement with a superior. Most states have what is called "employment at will". This gives the right to the employer to fire/hire for any reasons and the employee can quit for any reason. They will probably deny your unemployment claim since their justification will be that he was insubordinate to one of the supervisors and will have other employees who witnessed the disagreement. Unless he has a contract with the company or is part of a union, then he absolutely can be terminated for pretty much any reason with NO notice whatsoever. |
