Need to ask a wage garnishment question?

Here is what my affidavit states:

"The total probable amount now due on this judgement is $ 4,306.00. (The total probable amount due includes the unpaid portion of the judgment in favor of the Judgment Creditor, which is $370.55; interest on that judgment and, if applicable, prejudgment interest at the rate of 3% per annum payable until that judgment is satisfied in full; and court costs in the amount of $212.00. )"

The start date of this was August 6th, 2009. That is when the garnishment went into affect. Today i have paid a total of $4,786.40. I think i have over paid and they still won't release the garnishment or even return my calls. The court said it looks paid off but they can't do anything until the lawyer signs off on it. He won't return my calls for over 2 weeks.

Am i right to assume this... The $4,306.00 is made up from all the other cost and what i had owed? Would a 3% interest of $4,306.00 be $129.18? I seem to have overpaid? What can i do about getting my money back if this is the case? How can i stop it since he won't return my calls?

Thank you very much. Yeah i knew the interest would be less but was doing this message on the fly and just wanted to estimate. I think the lawyer might be the right answer. I told my hr manager and she was telling me she can't do anything until she receives notice from the court. The court can't do anything until they receive notice from the lawyer. Starting to tick me off.

The 3% interest would be less than $129.18 because a year hasn't passed and they were most likely estimating a certain amount of interest to begin with. I don't see why an lawyer would need to sign off on it. With the affidavit above an employer could stop the garnishment and send a letter requesting any further amount owed because by any calculation you, through the employer, has paid what the garnishment has ordered.

If your employer won't do that I suggest you have a lawyer right a sternly worded letter demanding the release of the garnishment and repayment of any overpayment, with interest.
