Neighbour dispute please advise me..?

I fell out with the neighbours for throwing at my dog and causing injury.

Now the police are telling me I am oblidged to allow them on to my property to build a wall.

I said to the police, if they cut back their hedges and bushes they would be able to do what they need to do from their own side. without having to disturb us or making us keep the dog in all day for weeks.

This woman as lied through her teeth, she as bullied people living in this house for decades i found out the other day from other neighbours, she gets away with everything, do I have to let them on my property?

Also a piec of her wall fell into my garden, she told the police to tell me to do what I want with it, shouldn't they have to dispose of it?

The dog does not bark much at all, only when someone is at the door, she hates dog and thinks I should not have one. It is you who is the neighbour from hell and makes other peoples lives a misery, maybe if she poisoned your cat, hurt your dog damaged your property you would not be so high and mighty!

Why are the police involving themselves in a civil matter?

You are NOT obliged to allow them on your land however if it is to build a wall which she is paying for and maintaining then why would you not let her?

sometimes people are so devious that you just cant win..........i watched my parents going through the same crap for years.....and the neighbours always came up smelling of roses.........i eventually persuaded mum to move after dad died. she used to be of the opinion "why should i back down". but in the end it was piece of mind........maybe you should consider moving....

Don't let her in and throw that piece over into her garden.

I have the sense that you may be in the UK; if that is the case then my answer may not suffice as I am in the US.

However, some comomon principles may apply, so I will offer you this:

A fence is generally considered common property, and either party may take action to repair, replace, or install a fence on a shared property line. It is also generally accepted that if you do not share in the cost of the fence you will have no say in its appearance or construction. You are generally not allowed to prevent your neighbor from taking reasonable steps to work on a fence; this may at times include 'incidental' access to your yard necessary for that work.

With respect to a piece of the wall that falls on your property - again, the wall is common; do with it what you like, but she will likely not be required to come and retrieve it.

I do not imagine the laws in the UK will be much different, but it is possible.

You don't have to let your neighbours onto your property and if they try it see a solicitor as it's trespass which is a civil tort. The police have no business becoming involved in a civil matter it's nothing to do with them and I would tell them so. Sounds to me as if you are being bullied by both your neighbour and the police don't let them get away with it. It might be worth asking a solicitor to write a letter to them.

I have a neighbour from hell like you, with her pain in the bum hole dog barking all the time, let the poor woman build a wall, and sort you dog out, maybe everyone will get some peace if you keep it in for a few weeks.

well you never said all that in your question about her poisoning your cat, hurting your dog and damaging your property No i wouldn't have been so high and mighty! all you said was (throwing at my dog and causing injury.)
Why did she do that!
And if the police say that you have too let her build a wall from your side there must be a good reason for this!
Maybe you should tell us all the details!

Before undertaking any building works to a party wall, you (the Building Owner) will need to provide your neighbours (the Adjoining Owner) with written notice at least 2 months before commencing the works (or one month for 'line of junction' or excavation works). If your neighbour rents the property or only owns a flat in the building, you will also need to inform the landlord or freehold owner of the building. If more than one adjoining property shares the party wall, you will need to inform all affected parties.

If your neighbours consent to the works, they will need to provide you with an agreement in writing within 14 days of the date of the notice. If possible, it is advisable to talk in person with your neighbours prior to issuing the official notice, in order that any potential problems may be resolved and thereby increasing the likelihood of obtaining their consent.

I'm surprise the police are involved. In my town, they never get involved, but would advise you to hire an attorney. In the interim, put a No trespassing sign in your yard.
