Can you prove if you were monitored? And which calls of yours were monitored? Enough proof to hold up in court? If so, get a lawyer to take your case. Otherwise, you have no proof of any damages to yourself. |

Their is no way to determine who is tapped. You can't sue for invasion of privacy because you can't sue the government, nor the telecoms over this. How can you raise a lawsuit claiming invasion of privacy without knowing for a fact that your privacy was violated?
DHS has been found guilty of nothing, and the Patriot Act describes how they are allowed to surveil communications, so none of this is illegal, as they have an existing law to allow them to do this.
Whether or not this is politically, morally or ethically wrong is a different topic than whether or not it is legally permissible. |

I did hear rumblings about a class-action lawsuit against telecom companies who went along with illegal wiretapping. But if I heard about it, it's probably already been filed.
You can always try a FOIA request but I doubt they'd tell you if you were tapped, all they have to do is cite national security reasons and the info can be classified. |
