Obeying the rules....?

Why do people frequently disobey rules and then kick up a fuss when they get caught?

A common problem they have in prisons is that inmates look for different ways to get around rules and escape. Its not because the prisons arent secure enough, but because the prisoners human nature and intelligence will always lead them to find a way out somehow.
people in society bend and break rules because depending on the situation, they dont believe the law applies to them, and thats when they get angry about it. many people also understand the rights in the constitution, but dont understand its amendments, law and court precedents that define it, and how it only applies to those to whom the government can trust to obey it responsibly (thus the need for drivers licenses, for example).

its mostly human nature, law has to be refined constantly (thus the congress and legislatures). Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Human nature my dear.

Because some rules are stupid and deserve to be broken. Just because something is a rule doesn't mean its right

yourbestnightmare
Because not all rules are good rules so people challenge them...it happens all the time everywhere in the world

Because of people's general belief in 'it won't happen to me'. Most people really don't think they will/can be caught or they consider the 'rule' to be a minor and do not understand why they should be in trouble. It is just human nature.

because the brain doesn't take in "don't" or "no", just take the example, i tell you:

don't think of a pink kitten

what did you do? right you thought of a pink kitten......

Luke S
because they're not thinking

futuretopgun101
Because rules are sometimes wrong.

kolie metz
people like to test limits... which is fine, but in doing so, they must be willing to accept the consequenses of their actions. Many people act like they are above the rules...

Natty F
because they aren't adults or mature yet. They can't handle consequences

Rules were made to be broken

Some rules are stupid.

How about slavery? If nobody broke the rules then we would still have it today (or at least it would still be legal).

Is this about slaves? Do you want to own slaves? Or be a slave?

edit-

To everyone who says that people who break the rules don't have any respect etc.. What about Rosa Parks? That's just one example.

There are people in this world who genuinely believe that the rules don't apply to them. I have several neighbours like that.

Some years ago the cousin of some friends and neighbours of mine drove into the local Sainsbury's in flagrant disobedience of a sign saying that there was no left turn. She damaged her car and was most indignant because, she explained, she didn't think that the sign applied to her! She was so persistent in her complaints that Sainsbury's ended up paying for the damaged car.

Because some people put themselves above the rules, and feel that they can do as they wish.

A lot of the rules are actually designed to aid in the oppression of the working classes in society. The elite own the ideology of society and it can only succeed because the laws they institute are internalised by the population and so they begin to
assist in their own oppression. A good example of these laws are tax laws that are too lenient in favour of the bourgeoisie or consider how tough the law is on blue collar, as compared to white collar, crime.

By breaking the law and introducing anarchy to society the working classes are given the ability to protest against laws and by further protesting when they are punished they draw more attention to the corrupt nature of society.

They are just made they got caught they want to be able to do what they want without any consequences

People tends to be hypocrites they say about others to obey the law and when it comes to them they tend to be awfully disobedient ,

Winters child
because they are self centered and really do not care much about anyone but themselves. so, when they get caught, they kick up a fuss because they feel they are above the rules.

fangtaiyang
There is no one reason for breaking rules. Some feel it is okay for them, others do it for attention. People may be ignorant of the rule or simply don't understand it. They become angry when caught because they were caught, plain and simple. The anger is often aimed at the person or entity that caught them, but they are really and truely angry with themselves for not having slipped by.

I guess they mistake the dictum..

Rules should always be questioned as to why they are but until they are changed they should always be followed.

Just becasuse we do not believe a law is just does not mean it should be broken, it should be challenged and if unjust changed before anyone acts on it.

Otherwise it shows that the person is selfish, inconsiderate and ultimately has no respect for others.

golden
Because rules can be broken and today's society can't accept responsibilities

I reckon its because when they get away with it they feel really clever/cool/special or whatever, but when they get caught and pulled into line like everyone else they get sour about it
