If you petition for emancipation in Oklahoma and are granted it, what does it entail? Do you just gain the ability to enter into legally binding agreements or do you gain the rights of the age of majority?

You basically have the restrictions of a minor removed, you can enter into legally binding contracts, live on your own and make your own decisions.
What you can't do, is smoke, drink, vote or go to an X rated movie. |

It entitles you to be live free of your parents. That is about it. You still have to be 18 to vote, smoke, etc. You cannot enter into a legally binding contract if you are emancipated unless the company or person is willing to take the liability. The judge can rule in the case the contract is void because you are not 18.. this is a common myth. You still have to follow all the laws minors do except you don't have to live at home. |
