Nitrogen asphyxiation. It's not used anywhere, but is a very humane way to execute someone. Your body is already use to breathing nitrogen, so it would not fight it. And, releasing it into the atmosphere is OK since the air already has mostly nitrogen in it. |

None of them are kind, the idea being the whole "eye for an eye" - you want to kill them.
I think I would say injection, it possibly is painful, but the rest could take time.
However, should we be worrying about being kind to murderers? Do we need to think about them and have great concern about their welfare? |

Why on earth do we want to be nice to murders. Did they ask the victims if it was to painful before they killed them. I favor death penalties. Why should the killer live a longer life the the victims they've killed. |

i would say lethal injection, because it makes the heart and things just stop and there really is no pain involved, they dont even know when it hits them.. |

lethal injection seems to be the least painful of those listed. However there are still concerns that even this method is not without substantial pain. |

i assume we are talking of criminal justice here? if someone is up for execution, they are a criminal. I.E. parasite vermin disease. why would you even think about being "kind" to them. they would rape & murder your mother in front of you just so they could laugh at the look on your face. my vote would be to wrack & flay them, then nail them to a stake & let a few dogs have fun with them, then set fire to them & after dousing them, bury the sub-human effluent alive. |

The only people who know are those who have been executed and none of them have come back to complain. Does it matter? |

Execution is there to take a life, i don´t think kind comes into it. Death by means of execution is just that "death" |

Strangely it's hanging, if done correctly your neck is snapped and you die right away.
Those having lethal Injection may look at peace but the pre-injection paralyses them and stops them moving or speaking, once the 'pre-leathal' injection is in fact lethal but even if the lethal injection wasn't given the prisoner would still die, just that the lethal injection is faster, recent news was that prisoners can feel the pain of their organs desolving!
The gas chamber is of course slow, with electrocution prisoners die most often from drowning in their own body fluids. |

You left out firing squad - which is really the most humane |

Probably lethal injection, but, maybe "kindest" is the wrong word,"most humane"would seem more appropriate. |

not the needle thats for sure!! they give you a jab to paralyse you then give you a chemically induced heart attack!! Theory is now that many death row guys feel massive and prolonged pain because they are paralysed...done right I'd go with hanging.. |

Out of the following choices, the kindest method of execution would be the lethal injection. The waiting time before being electrocuted would put you in shock and you might need to be electrocuted several times to die....the point where the rope goes around your neck would make you think about what will happen and you wont die quickly...and the gas chamber is a slow death. |

People who say lethal injection are sorely misguided. There are two shots given--one is a paralytic (not a pain killer), so the person won't thrash around screaming when the painful lethal drug is injected.
None of them are kind, all of them involve varying degrees of intractable pain. And putting aside my feelings about them being at all necessary, I would say if done correctly, hanging would be the most humane, in that the neck would snap, causing instant death. |

Out of your choices, lethal injection is the "kindest" method. Hangings are more effective when they break the neck but if it does not then the person will hang for minutes until they pass out. Electrocution is very violent because electricity is always looking for another exit so it may blow up a portion of your body to escape. The gas chamber does not seem any friendlier. (I served in the military where we go into a non-lethal gas chamber which was very painful on your body and different gasses have different effects.)
Lethal injection is not the best way but it is the best we have. If the first drug (I don't know the name off the top of my head) does not have the effect of placing the person to sleep, the second drug injected can cause a burning sensation. This was the case in Kentucky in which the first drug did not work, the prisoner was sentenced to die on the wrong day and was some how saved only to die another day. But before he did he filed an appeal on a cruel and unusual punishment and was rejected. It is in his court case in which he described the feeling. You can read the brief for the case at: http://www.oyez.org/cases/2000-2009/2007/2007_07_5439/ |

Kind does not come into the equation in my view. It is not kind to kill anyone before their biological time is up but having said that if someone deserves to die because of their actions then the kindest one is the quickest one. The worst is electrocution, the next worst is gas chamber, hanging and injection are equal because both are virtually instantaneous. |

lethal inkection. they put you to slep first with an anesthetic. its impossible to feel your heart stopping when they give u the second injection |
