Im a sales associate.
I am constantly being yelled at in front of customers.
I called in sick last Thursday. Ive been there for almost a year and that was the first time I called off, only because I am soo scared to because of my boss.
Long story short. I went back to work on Friday and my boss Demanded a doctors note. I told her sorry but I didnt go to the doctor when over the counter medicine was good enough to help me.
She got FURIOUS! she pulled me into the stock room and let me have it. She basically told me I was the worst employer there. I go in there thinking I could do what I want (FALES!) I dont even know how to hang clothes, and im really slow... Then she told me im one more mess up away to having my hours cut. She is REALLY intimidating! shes a B**** but i need my job :( so i can't just quit...
she even flirts with workers in the warehouse a married man once went in there she let him know that some shirts were on sale for 5 bucks. he replied with a joke saying thats too much money and he started laughing then she told him well you can get it free but you know what you have to do. and his face went dull.......
and from what i know you need to be out 3 days ti bring a DRs note?? thats the Law right??

If you can do better, try harder. If you can't, or her reasons for molesting you are personal, then try to find a new job. Keep this one until something new comes up, though. |

They can fire you at any time, for any reason, or even for no reason at all. There is no law saying that you have to be out 3 days for a doctors note. Basically, as long as they are not discriminating based on your race, gender, age, marital status, etc etc. then you have no legal recourse except to look for a different job. |

You do have rights as an employee. Call your HR office and speak with them, tell them everything and it will be handled by them. |

I'm afraid you're going to have to quit to escape this. As much as going to HR will help, you're going to have to prove your allegations, and it's not easy to prove. It won't stop you from revenge from her either. |

There is no law regarding a doctor's note. Under "at will" employment, you can legally be fired for a single sick day even if you have a note. It is all at the discretion of the employer. Nothing else in your description violates labor law either. Maybe you should focus more on being a better employee. |
