first he will have criminal charges and also have the civil issues of the college
From the worst, he would be suspended from school, get up to a 1000 dollar fine and up to a year in jail ( depending on your state)
Now this will not happen even with two or three times of being caught.
If he is part of a college group, they group can be put on probation or suspended.
Most likely my guess, ( this is what normally happened to us at a college in GA) the school warns him, puts him on notice, informal school probation.
The judge will assign him alot of community service working with either drunks or homeless, to teach him a lesson.
Many times after the community service, the case was dismissed. If not they were put on probation |

they could kick him out of school. zero tolerance for this type of behavior is the norm.
Maybe for leniency they could suspend him.
but it's up to the dean and his minions. |

It's really going to depend, since every state has different punishments as do all colleges. I would assume his punishment wouldn't be overly harsh, though they may not look lightly upon his running from the cops. From the school, I would assume that he might be put on some sort of probation. |

Most likely they will focus on his being on school property and underage. It all depends on the school board, but he could get suspended. I doubt they would expel him. If I were on the school board, I would want the police to give him a ticket for underage drinking with a fine and community service with a campus organization.
But that's just my guess. No need to worry since you can't change anything. I'd suggest he just be prepared to be humbled. |

he either could get kicked off campus, or put on probation. for the first offense its usually just a fine and maybe he might have to attend a class.. but the whole running thing is prolly what will hurt him the most |

Well he possibly could be facing jail time for evading an officer...They may or may not be easier on him because he stopped but he was underage drinking and he ran from the officer. He will def get some fines and like I said may or may not get jail time.... |

He should be very respectful and apologetic.
He did the right thing by stopping and facing the 'music' like a man.
Chances are very good that he'll receive a warning not to do it again.
He should be positive and have a good attitude - again, respectful and humble.
Make sure there won't be a next time.
Ahhhh...College daze |

This is not the way to learn not to drink when you are underage. He was much smarter to stop, than to run away. The type of and duration of charges and punishment is going to depend on how strict the college policies are. If they are very strict, he could well be expelled, or he may be put on probation. I hope that he has learned his lesson and this will not happen again. To become a college student without ever having a traffic ticket is a big accomplishment today. I wish your brother lot's of luck. |

First, I don't believe for one second he stopped on his own, even if that is the story he is feeding you. Second, did he run from Real cops or campus cops? The underage drinking would be a slap on the hand in the real courts BUT he really messed up by running, it is hard to say what they will do for resisting arrest if it was real cops. As for the school board, depends on the school. If the school has a Zero Tolerance policy, he better start looking at other schools. There is absolutely no argument and no case by case review with these schools. |

I happen to be the prosecuting ADA in this particular case and therefor can't comment on an open investigation. I would only say that he better plea out if he wants what is best for him. |
