Please help me with my nightmare neighbours!!!``?

Please help I need your advice.
Ihave been havin bother with my neighbours about noise since before christmas and have had sound monitoring inhstalled twice to no avail ( because they have to have a letter first)!!!
The thing is on the other day it all came to a head and I had the 18 yr old daughter shouting abuse at me and my bloke while my 3 year old daughter was standing at my front door. I took my daughter back inside the house but she kept shouting just to try and antagonise us which terrified my daughter to the point that she was screaming and shaking.
Then the mother decided to come and knock on the door to start.
I rang the police and they came out and spoke to us and gave us a crime number. I have rang my housing association and they are coming out tommorow but seem reluctant to do anything other than speak to them I thought that this would be classed as harrasment and that the ball would start rolling but this doesn't seem to be the case.
my daughter is ill with worry !!

your housing association has to do something under there tenancy agreement it will state like your did ,that if you cause any trouble,or bring unsociable people onto your property,or harass your neighbours you could be in breach of your tenancy,
the housing officer should give you nuisance and complaint sheets for you to fill in over the next two weeks you send them back ,and they send you more,it has to be going on for than a month, from when you fill in the sheets, the housing association have to be able to see this is happening ,and your word is not good enough its how it works,'
once you have a months worth of sheets the housing officer will speak to your neighbour, can you record any verbal abuse whether on a phone or camcorder and use it as evidence
my friend works for a housing association called swaythling she is the housing officer for the new forest in Hampshire ,i asked her what she would do and this is what she told me.
three basic points
noise sheets
video,or tape recording evidence
witness statements from neighbours
i wish you all the best and no what its like to have nightmare neighbours

the best thing you can do to be able to press charges is to have tangible proof. you don't want to go in court and be "he says/she says" have a camcorder handy and tape what you can, call the police, call then until they get sick of comming to hear your complains. they will do something! but proof is your best defense!

well, try to pit all of your other neighbor's against them and have all of you call the police in about 2 minutes of eachother, ten they'll get kicked out.

It's disgusting but the only way you can go about it i through the proper channels.

Keep on contacting your housing association. Matters like this should be very important to them.
Keep a diary of events so that you have proof, take photos of any damage and costs. Can any of your other neighbours back you up?

The housing association should evict them if they continue to behave like this but it does take a long time through the courts. BUt in most cases the threat of eviction and close monitoring can be enough to deterr them.

Well video an incident and then show it to the police then you have proof that the police cannot ignore

Don't interact with these people, it won't help. You can control YOUR actions but not theirs. Don't fall into that game.
Don't answer the door when they come a-knockin'.

Call the police every time it is appropriate to do so and they will soon tire of constantly coming out there and they will do something.

The landlord can evict them. The landlord HAS to evict them as your RIGHTS include a peaceable home and a noise level that is 'normal'. I had problems with my nieghbors and noise. I had the landlord give them 3 notices. They had a lease though, and the landlord didnt' want to take it to court. I informed the landlord that I would be documenting, having friends over for witnesses and that I would start recording the noise and give her a copy of the tape and that MY RIGHTS as a tenant include a peaceable home. I was scared to talk to the neighbors becasuse they would get angry with me. This upset the landlord who just wanted me to talk to them or move. I gave her a written letter (which I kept a copy) stating my rights and how I would document etc. Well the landlord suddenly sold the place and the neighbors had enough of my fuss and moved. I now have a new lanlord that lives upstairs and my home is peaceable and even has repairs that the old landlord wouldn't do. So my advise: DOCUMENT. STATE YOUR RIGHTS. RECORD THE NOISE. AND MAKE THIS THE LANDLORDS PROBLEM.

Because at the moment it's your word against theirs. Try to 'video' the aggression and also start a 'Diary of Events', that way, your case will have more credance with the Landlond. Avoid any further interaction with these people, otherwise they will be able to mitigate their actions. These situations are tricky for the Police as they view it as a 'Domestic Dispute' and cannot be seen to take sides, but conversely, they do take action should an 'Offence' be committed, again video evidence is a great help to them.

You can only do one of two things. Fight or Flight, either move to a new abode, or gather several of your friends, have a few brews then go to the neighbours house, kick in their front door, beat the crap out of all the men in their house and spank the women arses good with a paddle...let them know that should there be anymore bad behaviour from them, you'll be back.

Since you have a device that will monitor sound - why not turn the tables. I would suggest (and have done this before) playing Mozart (any music which in no way can be deemed offensive) just slightly below the legal levels at odd times during the day and night.

Where I live, there is a noise ordinance in effect after 10 p.m. Police will enforce it after that time. Chances are, you're not going to get help from the police unless things get physical. Civil matters just aren't their bag most of the time. At least not here. Best to attempt to ignore their behavior, and if they violate the homeowner's bylaws, the notify in writing the home-owners president. Make sure the police have a record of their behavior as well so if things escalate, you have a written record. As far as the kids go, explain to your children that rational people don't behave in this manner. These matters are very frustrating, even here. There is just little you can do. But more times than not, these types of people will be run out of their house by other neighbors as well.

I see your point.

I also have a neighbour who is similar, and I also live in a housing association flat.

You have to beat them at their own game, but not play by their rules.

Go to your doctor and tell him you think your daughter is suffering stress because of this (true).

Go to the council and tell them you want rehousing because of the harassment you are under.

You must keep a diary and see the CAB (Citizens advise ).

Also, get a pay as you go mobile phone (from a friend if you must) as it can not be traced to you.

Call taxi's, pizzas, chines meals, whatever, but make their life hell.

Failing that, as your in the UK, give me a bell, we can sort something out.

I ******* hate bad neighbours.
