Today, we were really busy at work, and when I rang up a five dollar transaction, this customer who just got off a water ride recently, handed me all $1 bills, they were all wet and some of them had like purple and black blotches all over them. I gave him a weird look, and he assured that it's real US currency. When he "assured" me that it's real, I had a feeling he was using reverse psychology on me, and I didn't trust him. So, I used the counterfeit marker on them to be sure, and I remember the mark was yellow to amber color like it was supposed to be. I don't know, I still had a feeling that those three singles were fake cause of the purple and black blotches on them and they were wet. Since the marks from the pen showed up as yellow, should I be ok? How likely is it to get a fake $1 dollar bill anyway? Should I be worried?

I would not worry about it if your drawer was counted and nothing said of the dollar bills. |

People write on money all the time. It's possible that the man just had dollar bills that had been written on and when they got wet whatever was on them smudged. I doubt that he would put himself open to exposure for $5 if he had fake money. |
