Prison rape is a huge problem in this country, why?

We can spend billions of dollars on a declining war, but we can not stop 25-50% of our inmates from getting raped.

It is amazing we haven't done more for prison rape in this day and age. It is spreading HIV largely among our prison population, and these people are spreading it when they get out. Not only is it a large part of the AIDS epidemic, it is destroying many of these prisoner's emotionally, making them more angry at society and more emotionally disturbed than they were before, making them a huge threat to commit worse crimes.

While I agree with you, the public has no sympathy for our prison population in general. This argument falls on deaf ears. A larger concern is the profileration of Islamic converts in prison.

Hmmm sounds logical.Would be motivation not to go to prison though.Did you get a ripped rump in the joint? Or someone you know got molested and gang raped in the shower?It is something to think about however.

Bleeding hearts in this country have given prisoners so many luxuries in the name of humanity that going to prison is no longer viewed as a bad thing. Prison rape is one of the only deterrents to committing a crime and going to prison that is left. Unfortunately for the bleeding hearts, they cannot control what the prisoners do to other prisoners. Crime rates are steadily rising because no one minds getting caught and spending time in prison anymore, as long as you don't mind giving it up to Bubba.

But, you have got a semblance of a point. Instead of unleashing these angry people back into society, maybe we should keep them locked up for life.

Prison is not Camp Happy!! The majority of the people there are violent and unruly. They are there for these reasons. Evil is in these people and they do evil things. We have families who are starving because they make just a little more than the gov't allows. They can't apply for any social programs. The country is totally screwed.

As long as it is controlled in the prison--I could care less about prison rape. Who cares about the prisoners.
