Pro's-of Underage Drinking?

I can't think of a single pro for allowing anyone to drink, let alone minors.

You can be depressed and drunk by 18.

ChrissyCookie
there are none

jojot001
It makes you more popular with police officers, but besides that, you just look like a loser.

Finding out early how much trouble this can get you in so that you will learn to be more responsible sooner.

Drinking in moderation under adult supervision (i.e. a glass of wine served with a meal, in the company of parents) is a reasonably positive introduction to the consumption of alcohol.
Probably better than most people's first experiences.
That way the youngster might not be as likely to get ripped and throw up in his dorm room.

There are none. It's illegal and will harm you.

Aviator - THE Resolution
The biggest one I can think of would be there would not be any rebellion by drinking. Also, as kids learn to drink, they could do so while their parents could monitor and mold good drinking habits (not drinking too much). In many other countries kids will start drinking early. Their culture is set up so that binge drinking is not common, and since kids start at young ages, they become responsible with their drinking early. They also tend to have very strict DUI laws in those countries.

None, how would you like to be raped when you are under the influence.

The only pro is you cannot be tried as an adult if you are 18 or younger. The con part is you can still be sent to juvi and mess up your future before it even starts.

Ummmm....NONE. There's no "Pro's" for ANYONE drinking, even people of age. Once you're of age, though, it's your legal right.

The Alchemist
cynically speaking,
Adults will sure sound a lot better.
Ugly people will look better.
If you mow people down in your car you might not get tried as an adult.
Don't drink dude it ain't worth it. Even when you are older.

Curious J.
I don't see anything good coming out of underage drinking. Once you start drinking at a young age and your body has gotten addicted it's too hard to stop. My father was addicted by the time he was 19 it became his best friend (to him). To everyone else it was a night mare. Now at the age of 48 he's gone and all the memory's of him were being and alcoholic.

No pros. Sorry. Research show that people who drink early in life are more prone to alcoholism.

krazykid933
is that a rhetorical question?

Mokes 310
It's always dangerous to tell people under the age of 21 not to drink, as it will just make them want to do it more. The pro's in the situation is that the smarter of the underage populous that does drink, will learn how alcohol does affects their bodies. So many times you hear of college freshman who have never used alcohol before, go on a binge and never wake up due to the fact that they never learned what drinking in moderation means.

The negatives are quite obvious and it would be quite redundant to to list them over and over again.

The body is usually alot smaller and less developed so its easier to get drunk although that wouldn't be seen as a pro for everyone.

it's fun
it's a form of socialising
it's a way of learning what is to be indured in the adult life
it's a way of letting depressed children hav a break

In other countries, their children are allowed to drink sips and little cups as they grow up, and they don't grow up like our kids who turn 18 or 21, and go "WOOH! Ive never done this before!! Moderation? Hah. "

to others, its not so special.

and...getting drunk is fun. plain and simple. It's not cool to drink after youre 21, because its not sneaky and illegal.
