So I am 15 , turning 16 in August.
I just got a job working as a Swimming Instructor Aide
and well it is required that we get our fingerprints checked out at the Police Station
and well I have a misdemeanor on my record. And I am going through a program right now to erase it from my record completely.
well I am just wondering if the police station will inform my surpervisor of this misdemeanor even though I am trying to delete it from my record completely?
do they just check for felonies?

Oh no I didnt lie to them,
they asked if I had commited any Felonies
and I only commited a misdemeanor
and the police officer who is helping me with the program that erases my misdemeanor said I shouldnt have to mention it.

Yes, with any criminal background check your employer will be notified. in an application where you answer if you have ever been convicted of a crime you always need to answer truthfully. If you apply for a job in retail and you have been convicted of theft you most likely will not be hired. If you are applying for a driver position and you have had a DUI, you most likely will not be hired etc.
The job I just started yesterday had a fingerfrint, FBI background, criminal background, security threat assessment and drug screen. I was convicted of a DUI 5 years ago, but since that conviction would have no bearing on the job position, I was offered the job. |
