58 years old. When I was 16, wanted to be all grow up. I tried to quit many, many times. Tried everything. Nope wasn't successful. Yes I have many health problems. Heart. lung, and over weight. |

Why did you start?
Because I was the only one of my friends that didn't, and I wanted to have a reason to hang out with them at the smoking gazebo after school.
Have you ever tried to quit? How many times?
I have tried to quit 4 times.
What methods? Cold turkey, patch, gum, hypnosis, etc...
I tried cold turkey, and I lasted a few days. I have been able to make it up to two months on the patch, but once I move to the lower dose, I start smoking again.
Were they successful?
No, but my desire to quit is stronger every time I try. That gives me hope. I always make it a little longer.
Have you had any health effects?
I experience shortness of breath, but I have no serious health effects. |

19 when i started but 17 when i first tried a cigarette,i started because of i was curious, yes i have tried to quit numerous times,cold turkey and alternative smokeless tobacco (i know its not a safe alternative).i quit smoking cigaretts but i dip copenhagen snuff now and i"m trying to quit that with nicotine gum,no health affects with smoking,but dipping snuff will stain your teeth |
