In my personal opinion Re-Legalizing Cannabis is national security issue millions of US dollars are flowing out of the country supporting drug lords and weakening Mexico's government. I do not smoke it and I believe people who do are breaking the law but I think the law should be changed. Pot is no worse than alcohol or tobacco but it should be taxed and regulated at least as well as tobacco and alcohol are. The fines for driving high need to be as severe as those for driving drunk.

With immigration your question needs to be more specific. Those who are here legally and those who crossed the boarder without asking. Legal immigration is not down. America continues to be the single largest acceptor of legal immigrants in the world and the government is planning on increasing the number of special visas that high tech companies are requesting. Some who have crossed our borders without permission have returned home but many have children who are legal citizens who can and do get US government aid so see no need to leave. The drug wars raging in Mexico are keeping many visitors here as well. With the government now unwilling to enforce immigration law, even to the extent of requiring e-verify there is even less of a reason for undocumented workers to leave even as citizens and legal immigrants find it more difficult to find jobs.
