Really wierd question.. Are you allowed to just start a new country with some signatures?

America's founding was quite a bit more complicated than that, and starting a country today would also be much more complicated.

All the land in the world today is owned by one country or another except for Antarctica. There are international treaties for Antarctica too however that prevent one country or another from claiming it as territory for its own. Elsewhere in the world, to start your own country, you would have to rally a sizeable group of supporters, get funding, and secede from the nation that your particular part of the land is in. Then you would need to be powerful enough to repulse the attacks of the host nation, form your own national identity and remain organized long enough to maintain national unity. If these things can be accomplished and you did this long enough to be recognized by a majority of the other countries in the world, then you too can start your own country. Good luck.

Heh, good luck with that. Look what happened last time a chunk tried to break off of the United States. Considering all the land on the globe is part of a country nowadays, you'll have to forcibly take land from a country, or live in Antartica.

People need to stop living in their rear view mirrors. I am a part of both, the ones who came, and the Natives. Not everything in history, or life for that matter, is fair, or just. I'll bet everyone has done things that weren't right. Do you want someone rubbing it in your face all the time? Why don't some people stop trying to divide Americans, which is what questions like yours are meant to do. Leave it alone. We are who we are today (as a nation, and as individuals,) because of some of our forefathers got kicked out of other countries, and some of the Native Americans welcomed them. If they didn't have a problem with it, why should you? I know there were raids and such, on both sides, but there also were Natives raiding Natives, before anyone else showed up. Read all your history, dude! How ever my forefathers got me here, I am enjoying it now. I am proud to be a (mixed) American. Spread Peace, not confusion, Dude!

No, because all the land has been claimed by existing nations. So if you claim some land as yours you will piss of the nation who is now laying claim to this land and will probably be punished.

Another creative way to start your own nation is to elevate an Atoll to a level of an island and claim it as a new nation. This has been tried once -- with disastrous result -- the new island state was taken over by Tonga(see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principality_of_Minerva)

Read the international laws.

First you need some land that do not belong to any other country, claim it yours, and then you will have your country, but at this time is not going to be easy.

Well, your American history is terribly deficient first of all. However, that would take years to undo the damage that has been done to you in that area. You cannot just start a new country anymore because there is not any unclaimed, uninhabited land on the planet anymore. When Columbus sailed for America there were less than 3 million humans in North America, so it was essentially empty! Today to start a new country you must defeat the current nation that occupies the land on which you wish to form a new nation. An easier thing to do is form a city. If you own land that is currently unincorporated as a city in most states you are free to start your own city. within that new domain you can 'rule' as you wish within the confines of existing laws! The reason the United States was able to survive was because it was able to beat back Great Britain. If you want to sucede from the Union, you're going to have to have more than just a few signatures. The United States had to win against Great Britian; you're going to have to win against the United States.

no tribes left...lol. Nowadays all the countries are spoken for, but give a poor government lots of money that's willing to part with said chunk of land, then you can do like Jonestown in South America...(google Jonestown Massacre)
