Reducing points on my record for insurance?

I received a following to closely ticket awhile back and have a court date coming up. I was wondering if there was a way I could plead to the court to reduce it to a lesser charge in terms of points on my record so I can avoid having to pay too much of an increase in my insurance. I admit I was at fault and am willing to pay the full amount of the ticket, I was just wondering if there is something I could say so I receive less points on my record? If so please explain a little. Thank you

Sometimes just asking the judge if she could maybe do something a bit better. Its hard times financially for everyone. Be kind and polite and dont forget to dress well!

I went to court for a speeding ticket two months back, it was 3 points and a fine of 175$. I told them that I was a college student and asked if they could maybe help me out given the tough times, so they were kind enough to drop all the points and just fine me 100$.

I was dressed better than some of the lawyers and all i was wearing was a suit, tie, and proper shoes.
