Is it legal for a store to not issue a receipt for purchases? I bought items at Target today and when I checked out, they could not issue a receipt because the paper got jammed and by the time they fixed it, the computer said too much time had passed. Some of the items I bought were donations for the church, for which I'd needed the receipt in order to claim on my taxes. I went to customer service desk, spoke with the manager and called customer service when I got home with no resolution (and no receipt). I didn't think that was even legal.
