I don't think you can really do anything with out breaking the law. Exactly the same thing happened to me but i couldn't do a thing about it. It was my parents next door neighbour, he also tried to break into my parents house while they were on holiday, broke into there garage twice, set fire to his own car in his garage, set fire to his own house causing damage to my parents house, stabbed himself in the stomach with a screwdriver and blamed it on his 2 and a half year old son. WHAT A F***ING NUT CASE!!!!! |

if you have informed the police as to who you believe or suspect had a hand at the vandalism, then leave it to the police.
file a claim with your insurance company, and also let them know of the person(s) that you suspect of it,
do not, i say again DO NOT take matters into your own hands, that always backfires! |

I would get a friend who these scum did not know to befriend them,then after a while i would get my friend to discretely bring up the incident with this scum and record the convo on a digi voice recorder as it sounds to me as these scum would be stupid enough to bragg about what they did, then hand the recording over to the police.Then i`d let it lie for a few years then i`d pay for a few heavies to kick the shite out of them,then i`d pay another druggie scumbag to rob their house and burn what was left! hope this is helpfull.good luck |

My response would depend on the reason they torched my car. If I felt that they were justified, I would accept it. But, if I felt it wasn't justified, I would probably just shoot the one who torched the car. Yes, that would be murder, but I would simply make sure I wasn't caught. It really isn't all that hard to manage a crime without being convicted. |

In the UK you can take out a private prosecution or sue through the civil courts.
In criminal law, the burden of proff is more difficult because it has to be beyond a reasonable doubt.
In the civil courts it is slightly easier, the burden of proof is based on the balance of probability.
When the police deal with a matter, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decide on the realistic chances of securing a conviction, it is their decision based on directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Not the police.

Yes it is a bit of a problem been there and done it, the way i went about it was to ask questions yourself even offer some reward.
There is always someone eager to talk make sure you get them to talk to right people after like the police get it down on statement. |

Take all your evidence and the perpetrator to Civil Court and let the judge decide. At least try. You never know. |

if this is on-going violence then get a video camera and record it - unfortunately it has got to the stage where you have to get your own evidence. If its not then there is not much you can do legally. You could always beat the ever-lovin' s**t out of them as long as no-one can identify you. Sorry i can't help more |

Try citizens' arrest & get as many witnesses as pos. And next time you get a car, keep it somewhere safe - NOT on your drive, or garage, cos if they know where you live, they'll do it again. Good luck with resolving your problem. Also try Citizens' Advice Bureau for more advice. |

tough one alot of people wouldnt do any thing and im not sure what id do because its never happened to me but id like to think id bring a campaign of doing the same amount of damage to there property for the same amount of money as my car for example flattening tyres a phew times in the dead of night keying it up paint spraying pikey all over it or there house battery acid on the paint work but it wouldnt be over like a couple of days it would be a campagn that lasted years make there life a living hell id start 1 month exactly after my car was torched and make them not know if its more or not id go out of my way to say hello to this person in the street and be polite because if they dont know if its me how can the retaliate , i gotta say im not vindictive but i tend to treat people how they treat me . |

A private criminal prosecution would be expensive in proportion to the likely punishment handed out by a liberal minded magistrate.
A civil action would only be of benefit if the defendant has identifiable assets and you can get sufficient evidence for success.
Vigilante action would presumably cause retaliation, so if contemplated, it has to be a permanent solution that anticipates the reaction of the offender and all his associates. As action by householders and racial incidents are the number 1 priority of many Police Forces, you would undoubtedly be subject to the full might of the CID and the CPS.
Sorry to be a wet blanket but I think your best hope is action by your insurance company. |

Well, if the police don't have enough evidence to act, you won't have enough evidence to bring a private prosecution, so that's out. If it carries on you can try to catch the people out of with photos and video, but otherwise there's not a lot else youcan do. |

There really is not much you can do unless you wish to believe you can put yourself above the law and carry out a revenge attack.
How do you KNOW for SURE who did it? Is there ANY evidence in your knowledge that could help the police? If so, report it to them - but PROVING it is another matter - without eyewitnesses, CCTV, forensic evidence or even an admission. |

I would be so very angry, hurt, frustrated, A flood of different emotions I am sure. I would want revenge, however, I would not take revenge because two wrongs do not make it right. Seriously, I would pray, God says vengeance is his, so I would allow him to take care of it. God will take care of it, it you hand it over to him in prayer. We all pay for what we do in this life. some one killed my friend. I went by his home with some friends and shot it to hell, with many many many bullets.at night. I would keep on calling the police on them for things they didnt do. lie.tell them you were attacked. get some friends to back you up. do anything you can think of to get them back.this is what I would do.good hunting. |
